Halal or Haram? (halalorharam.net) is an educational card game. Questions or requests can be directed via our contact form.

We do not collect, store, or sell any personally-identifiable information from players.

• Live player counter — when you open the game, a random session ID (generated in your browser) is sent to our Redis store with a 2-minute expiry. It is never linked to your identity and is automatically deleted when the session expires.
• Game state — your best score, daily streak, and mastered items are stored locally in your browser via localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
• Cookie consent preference — stored in localStorage under the key cookie-consent so we do not ask again.

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show you personalised ads based on your browsing activity across sites. This includes:

• DoubleClick cookies (doubleclick.net)
• Google AdSense cookies (googlesyndication.com)

The AdSense script is only loaded after you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, no ad scripts are loaded.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Google Ad Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.

We do not set any first-party cookies. Third-party cookies from Google AdSense are only loaded after explicit consent. You can clear or block cookies at any time via your browser settings.

Session IDs in the live-player counter are automatically removed after 2 minutes. No other server-side data about players is retained.

If you are located in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, or erase any personal data we hold. Because we hold no personally-identifiable information, there is nothing to provide or erase beyond the transient session counter. If you have questions, use our contact form.

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
